Dany Placard is heading back to his native region for a series of 3 shows. He will have the chance to present his newest CD/DVD Placard-Macbeth. This latest offering has been recorded live around Québec and in an Eastern Townships studio. Catch him live, this coming March in Chicoutimi (March 4th), Alma (march 5th) and Dolbeau-Mistassini (March 6th). Dany will also be playing a unique session with friends on March 25th.
For these shows and the recording of the CD/DVD, Dany Placard allied with fellow bluegrasser Françis "Macbeth" Lapointe (member of Caloon Saloon) to explore Dany's old material with a bluegrass and 30's folk edge. They put aside their amps ans put in the forfront Dany's unique voice, surrounded by dobro, banjo and lap steel guitar.
The result sounds "as true as dis old Missisippe John Hurt ou Bukka White albums. It talks about life in Quebec, but we could believe wa are in Louisiona back in the 30's" (VOIR Québec). These shows will be a unique occasion to go back to these Québec folk roots, with the unique party sense that Dany Placard has. After all, he's a proud saguenéen!
